Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

My initial lesson with the student is to learn what they do and do not know and to establish proper playing and hand techniques. I interact with the students to learn what they enjoy playing and what they want to accomplish as well. It is very important to me to make music fun and interesting for them to learn. I spend the majority of the lesson going over what they were assigned the previous week and then the last part of the lesson is going over what I am assigning for the next lesson and playing some of the music so they can hear what it is supposed to sound like. I began teaching flute lessons in 1996. Since then I have taught lessons in Voice, Flute, and Piano at 2 different local performing arts schools as well as several private lessons outside of the school. I have been involved in teaching students the beauty of music for over a decade. I also have several years of stage performance. I base my curriculum on an individual students needs, skills, and personal preferences in style/genre. I have experience teaching both the Classic and Suzuki methods. I approach teaching by focusing on fundamental theory and techniques. For more experienced students enrolled in school musical programs, lessons will support their class curriculum and help work on the skills they need to succeed in their class and their performances. My style is to understand the needs of the student first and only then decide how to approach our lessons. Everybody needs to go at a different pace and not all students need the same things. I like to see my students become proficient sax players but I feel that the job is only complete when they become good musicians.
