My method of teaching involves researching a wide range of resources in order to find what is best for the student at the current stage in his or her development.  Using my own knowledge, I am able to effectively adapt and improve these resources so as to be accessible to the student.  For bass students, I might use Hal Leonard's Bass Method, book one.  For young beginning guitar students, I recommend The Beginning Guitarist's Book by Tom Hess. For beginning students who are children I like to start with Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Most schools use this book and I feel its a great beginning method. I start them working on tone and ear training. There is no one size fits all learning companion so I really like to see what the students interests are and find what really works for them. I was very involved in the instrumental music program at my school and took private lessons to reinforce and enhance my knowledge and practice of the craft.
