As I mentioned above, one of my favorite parts about teaching is learning from my students. I encourage my students to take chances, perform often, and to not be afraid of making mistakes. Hello! My name is Ethan and I am a percussion performance major at Iowa State University. I have performed in 4 different countries with the Iowa State University Wind Ensembles. The most important thing to do as a teacher is find the right balance between fun and learning. When I teach, I make sure that students are enjoying their time in the lessons, because music is supposed to be fun, not a chore.
