Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For each lesson, I begin with a 5 to 10 minute warmup before moving on to the student's assigned music. I like to alternate between actual performance/practicing, and teaching concepts including music theory. I also wrap-up every lesson by spending 5 minutes in review with the student, going over what they need to practice in the coming week ahead. Read More

I typically begin with rhythm. The best melodies would not be worth anything if they aren't played with rhythm. After a student gains basic familiarity with their instrument I use a metronome (a musician's best and worst friend. Instead of playing traditional exercises, I teach students their favorite songs and techniques typical of their favorite genres. I have been drumming since I was 6 years old (currently 19) and have taking classes and professional training, as well completed several certifications. I studied both western music and Indian Bollywood and some Indian classical music, amongst latino and Caribbean styles of music. Therefore, I would say I'm pretty well versed in different styles of playing and cultures. Furthermore, I also have studied the rudiments and can help teach marching band type of drumming. Read More

Patience is the key. For the teacher and the student. There's no need to get upset or angry. Music isn't hard, bricks are. Music just takes time. If there's a section of the music that's challenging, I like to take it in chunks. By focussing on the first couple bars and once that's clean, we can look at the next couple bars.
