For instance, for my guitar students, I like to set a realistic goal (a song they want to be able to play) and tailor my lessons towards my student being able to play that, while at the same time learning their fundamentals, or whatever else is in their lesson plan for that session. I've been playing drums and percussion professionally for about 20 years. I've taught private lessons; I've instructed high school drum lines and percussion ensembles. Being an Army musician, I've had the opportunity to play for soldiers and civilians in the US and abroad. Currently I play drums for the band As You Were, which is the Army's musical outreach team. The band does require that I spend some time on the road, but as a drummer I can teach lessons remotely from a hotel room. Read More
