Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Drums, Mallet Percussion, Orchestral Percussion, Conga
For beginning students, I like to start from the very beginning, breaking down the fundamentals of how to hold the stick/mallet. Once the student has grasped how to hold and move the sticks/ mallets appropriately, we would then move on to some basic rudiments or permutations. After the student has figured out rudiments and rhythms, I would then move them to their respective instrument, and we would begin the basics on this instrument (Scales for Mallets, rolls and stroke types on snare drum, basic grooves on drumset), and the student can grow from there. Instruments: Drums
I work out of various Drum Set method books, which at first I give page copies for students. Once students are acclimated to how lessons work (and sure they want to continue) I encourage them to purchase the book(s) we are working out of. Books are great for learning and seeing new material, but they don't do much for a performance, writing parts or learning songs. Read More

As stated previously, one of my greatest joys is seeing a student grow and thrive with a musical experience. I understand that not every one of my students will want to pursue music in their life, but music can bolster character, discipline, and creativity-- no matter their age. Instruments: Drums, Bass Guitar, Mallet Percussion, Orchestral Percussion, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar
Every student is different, with different goals, different passions, and different backgrounds. So every student needs a different teaching method. I prefer to spend some time in the first lesson getting to know the student and his or her background to determine what specific methods work best for them. I like to put concepts into a musical application as soon as we can. Once the student has a grasp of the basic 4/4 pattern, I have them loop it while I accompany them on bass or guitar. Read More
Instruments: Drums, Orchestral Percussion

I'd also like to add that one of my former students from the same school is now the percussion instructor there. During my 7-year tenure there, I also taught as percussion instructor at many other high schools, middle schools and even a music conservatory, which was definitely the highlight of my teaching career so far.
