Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I have taught kids from ages 9 to fourteen, and am open to teaching anyone of any skill level. I also offer lessons in composition and recording/engineering music production. I encourage regular practice and make sure, especially for kids, that they leave every lesson with something new. I focus on learning how to be a successful musician all around, emphasizing on good technique, performance, and each student's individual sound. I've been teaching guitar for about 15 years, voice for 10, drums and harmonica for 6 and classical guitar for the last 4. Over the years I've learned that the best way to approach teaching someone an instrument is to help them learn music that they love, as well as presenting concepts about what is happening in the music so that a bit of theory and the mechanics of how it all works gets mixed in with the enjoyment of learning just the technical aspects. For beginners I intent to teach the main guidelines of the instrument such as its properties, history and basic techniques to play properly. Then, I proceed to show them the fundamentals of the instrument such as scales and rhythm exercises to start. I always try to Introduce new lessons with a little bit of music theory tips to help them understand what they are doing, I reinforce this strategy by teaching them written music. Read More

For beginning students, I like to start from the very beginning, breaking down the fundamentals of how to hold the stick/mallet. Once the student has grasped how to hold and move the sticks/ mallets appropriately, we would then move on to some basic rudiments or permutations. After the student has figured out rudiments and rhythms, I would then move them to their respective instrument, and we would begin the basics on this instrument (Scales for Mallets, rolls and stroke types on snare drum, basic grooves on drumset), and the student can grow from there. My goal isn't to teach music. My goal is to help my students grow to love music more, and teaching them music is just the means to that end. My one-on-one teaching style is very relaxed and personable. I get to know students as people, and let them get to know me.
