Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:
Instruments: Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet
My experiences in a wide range of musical settings energize my goal to develop the interest, enjoyment, and personal achievement of each student through consistent application of fundamentals. I understand each student has their own unique personality and talent to offer. I will work with you to bring that out.
Instruments: Piano, Guitar, Voice, Clarinet, Ukulele, Recorder
I believe that a mix of styles is important for any musician, but I also believe in meeting the students where their needs are. Without understanding the musician, there is a disconnect in teaching. I care about my students as individuals. Above all, I want my students to care about the music, know that I care for them and their success, and to find enjoyment! My lessons are unique because instead of having a one-size-fits-all session, I tailor to the student. Part of my teaching philosophy is that above all a student needs to be valued as a person before being coached as a musician. Music is empowering, and my desire is for a student not to feel discouraged, but confident.
Instruments: Trumpet, Trombone, Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, Drums, Bass Guitar, Euphonium, Tuba, Mallet Percussion
Teaching Methods: My beginning band students normally use the method book titled "Accent on Achievement" by Alfred Publishing. I fnd the book non intimidating and it moves the child at the appropriate pace.
Teaching Styles: My teaching style is calm yet sensitive, careful yet daring. I love to challenge students. I also believe in giving lots of praise and encouragement. I don't have a set teaching style. I am very flexible and will based each lesson on the individual student.
Instruments: Piano, Violin, Viola, Clarinet
Teaching Methods: For beginning students on Piano, I like to start with Alfred's Basic Piano Books. For clarinet: H. Klose. For Viola and Violin: Suzuki. There is a small amount of leeway I allot for those students who are exemptional. These books offer easy ways for begining students to learn the rudiments and mechanics of their particular instrument. Once progression is being made in the development of rudiments and mechanics, I start to incorporate solo works to spice up the learning experience. I like to have fun with my lessons. So, sometimes we will shy away from our regular studies to investigate some modern, and cool things that are being done with music.
Teaching Styles: It is important to me that each of my students learns to love their instrument. But, even more than the love of their instrument, is the importance of knowing and understanding one's instrument. I offer positive reinforcement, encouraging my student in realistic goals. I acknowledge accomplishments that help fuel my student's desires to progress. However, I do not hide from the fact that pursuing music is a discipline. A well structured and commited practice time offers the best benefits. There is no greater reward than to be able to play what your heart desires.
Instruments: Piano, Saxophone, Clarinet
Teaching Methods: I bring a holistic method to my teaching, so in addition to developing important fundamentals, I work to develop all aspects of music (theory, aural skills, performance skills etc.). I believe serves to motivate us and results in a rewarding and succesful musical experience. In addition to Standards of Excellence and Essential Elements as starting resources for beginners, All-State requirements for middle and high school students, I work hard to bring a variety of music for students to work on, developing a broad taste in repertoire. My goal is always to create an engaging and fun learning atmosphere.
Teaching Styles: Whatever the ultimate goal you the student may have (auditions, All-State, or simply learning for fun) I believe that the most rewarding and effective way to learn, is through a holistic teaching method. So, while I will work to develop effective practice methods to ensure a consistent technical development on the saxophone, I also strive to bring awareness to broader musical issues of interpretation, aural development and performance skills. I see myself as a model to my students, and take an interactive approach to my lessons in playing for and with my students.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
