I am currently a Senior Music Education Major at Eastern Michigan University. I am a saxophonist in the EMU Wind Symphony, EMU Big Band, EMU Saxophone Ensemble, EMU Jazz Saxophone Sextet, Stone Tower Saxophone Quartet, Krangerson Duo, REMIX, and Funkwagon. I have also marched Quads for Impact Percussion, and the EMU Drumline. I also play drumset in several jazz combos. For beginning students who are in a school music program, I start with whatever the preferred beginner's method that their band uses: usually Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. As they progress I use a mixture of their music from school and etudes and exercises to improve their reading and technical abilities. Let’s make music And memories together ! Teaching is my passion but MUISC IS MY LIFE! I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job!
