I began teaching back in my sophomore year of high school when one of my friends wanted to learn how to play the piano. I gave them half hour lessons once a week and tailored my teaching to fit what techniques they wanted to learn. After that, I began branching out and teaching other friends, and eventually found myself helping out the middle school bands during my study hall. I’m a positive instructor who thoroughly loves working with students, helping them meet their goals, and enabling them to enjoy music for the rest of their lives! I have a Masters in clarinet performance from Indiana University, but also hold a Bachelors in music education with a current K-12 instrumental teaching license. I’ve been blessed to perform all over the United States, at Carnegie Hall, and in 5 other countries with orchestras, bands, and a drum & bugle corps. Read More

Learning to play the clarinet can be an immensely fun and rewarding experience! As a teacher, it is my goal to share my love for music with my students so they too can develop a passion for it. I provide my students with the strong fundamentals that are necessary to developing musical skills and to becoming a successful clarinetist. Furthermore, I believe that if I can teach my students to analyze their playing like I analyze my own, they will become motivated self teachers and life-long learners. Read More

I’ve always found it most beneficial to be working on the music I’m the most passionate about, so I like to teach by combining method books with music the student is interested in. Read More
