Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

My teaching style is obviously very different from a lot of other people. I like to set clear goals with my students rather than setting goals by myself to give to my students. My teaching experience goes back to when I taught piano lessons in high school. Since then I have continued to teach private lessons throughout college. I now teach music at Kansas City Public Schools. One of the key components to my teaching is helping my students find a way to enjoy making music. I like to provide fun supplemental activities as well as their regular lesson books. For all of my students I incorporate fundamental methods of playing technique and musical concepts to ensure steady musical progress. Many teachers (especially for guitar/ukulele) simply play along with students to pre-recorded songs or songs that the student picks. This can result in a student skipping around and trying to learn musical concepts out of order. This does not give students the confidence to play or approach songs independently. Read More

My methods very from student to student. If students have already started playing their instrument in school, I will work with them on the method book that they use in school. If students do not have a method book, I will work with them on what is provided or I will find a book that best suits the students needs.
