I want to figure out what inspires a student. We will hone in on personal goals and use that as a basis for instruction. Motivation is key! I typically use a style of traditional classical instruction. Including scales, studies, and repertoire. I teach sight reading and ear training. I use memorization, and critical listening skills. I teach from the traditional method.  I use the String Builder as it give the student a step by step method on how to learn the notes and how to understand the notes on the page.  This method teaches you 2 ideas simultaneously.  You read music, and play at the same time.  There are many methods of teaching, and I am aware of all of them, but I am very successful with the Traditional method and the String Builder Method Book.
