My philosophy of teaching is that there is a base of knowledge and skills that a student must possess before a more personal journey in music can occur. While I don't subscribe to any particular method I do believe there is a best order to learning. I started playing the cello when at the age of 8 in the 4th grade, and immediately fell in love with it. She has been heard in concert halls around the world including Carnegie Hall, Severance Hall, Mixon Hall, and Kulas Hall in North America, The National Centre for the Performing Arts and Fujian Grand Theatre in China, Castello Brancaleoni and Palazzo Ducale in Italy. For students who are already in an instrumental program through school, I will start with whatever method book they are using at school, and branch off from there. Depending on the instrument, I will bring in another method book specific to that instrument book and we will also use some sort of etude book. The etudes may be classical in nature or more modern music. For older students, I will help them prepare Solo and Ensemble pieces as well. Read More
