I am a Venezuela singer/songwriter, cellist, guitarist, producer and music educator. I moved to the United States at the end of 2011. I started my college studies at Miami Dade College in the Fall of 2012, and obtained my A.A Degree in May of 2014. After that, I transferred to Berklee College of Music in 2014 and finished in the Summer of 2016 with Summa Cum Laude honors. My emphasis is on performance and motivating the student. I set goals for performance at the early stages of study whether it's for family and friends or at an open mic or in church. Without performance as a goal it's hard to motivate the student to practice. I analyze each student's individual learning style whether it's visual or auditory and find ways to help them learn faster and securely. I began teaching private voice when I was in college and also started to teach beginning piano and cello as I played piano for 10 years prior. I have always loved teaching as it is a chance for me to help students find their true voice through honing skills and proper technique allowing them to have healthy and lengthy careers in the industry if they so choose. I always meet you where you are, so if you are just beginning singing then we start with the basics to make sure you have a good core to start with, if you are more advanced I like to learn what you know so far so nothing seems repetitive for you and I then incorporate techniques that will help you move to the next level. I have been teaching since I was 17, both in private lessons and group settings. My individual lessons and sectionals are always with cellists, though I have assisted with high school orchestra classes and chamber groups comprised of mixed instruments. I also have experience coaching sectionals of collegiate cello students and working one-on-one with advanced, non-major cello students. I personally have taken lessons from and performed in masterclasses for cello professors at most of the major colleges/conservatories in the US, the Principal Cellists of the Chicago Symphony and Vienna Philharmonic, and soloist Alban Gerhardt. I believe each student is different. Therefor, lessons should differ depending on each students particular needs, taste in music, and age. I would never treat an adult student like I would a young student and vice versa. I always try to set weekly goals with each of my students in order for them to have something to work towards on a consistent basis. If my students don't reach their weekly goal I simply have a little bit of a review with them in the beginning of the lesson and then proceed with that weeks work. Read More
