I'm an experienced and knowledgeable instructor focused on developing the student's ability to share music. I have a BA from St. Mary's College and have taught college level courses at Winston-Salem State University, Salem College and NC School of the Arts Community Program. Currently I play solo, in a duo and have four bands in different genres, Jazz, Blues Bluegrass and Praise. As an avid music instructor of three different instruments, I have a very diverse teaching background that encompasses approximately six years of cumulative musical training to students of all ages. I have been teaching since I was 17, both in private lessons and group settings. My individual lessons and sectionals are always with cellists, though I have assisted with high school orchestra classes and chamber groups comprised of mixed instruments. I also have experience coaching sectionals of collegiate cello students and working one-on-one with advanced, non-major cello students.
