For beginners with no prior knowledge or musical education I start with the MelBay Method Modern Guitar 1. After they acquired the basic & fundamental Knowledge and skills in an entertaining way then I move on to teach them the first lesson of the Melbay method the student learns the first note on the first three strings of the guitar. Music in the school system is taught backwards. If you're a beginner, you were put in a beginning class. this makes it very difficult for students to advance quickly because they aren't playing music with people who are more advanced than them. I make sure the students have the ability to play the instrument before they learn a ton of theory, because knowing how the wrritten form of music work without being able to play them is recipe for frustration.
