I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 1977, I graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Performance. In 1999, I was certified to teach Music K-12 by the state of North Carolina after attending NC Central University. Performing all over the US has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play in North Carolina, Virginia, Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Kansas, Alabama, Ohio, Florida, and Connecticut. My teaching experience dates back to my high school years where i would actually walk to a students home to teach. I have been teaching for over 50 years. Students leave with a sense of excitement and accomplishment and look foward to the next weeks lesson. My teaching experience begins back in my college years as I initially began teaching beginner piano at an after school program. Since college, I’ve been able to work in public schools around the NYC area, teach privately for several music institutions in Long Island, conducted hundreds of online video lessons, and have also been able to successfully build my own in-home roster of students as well. Music has held a major position in my life since I was very young. I began composing music before I was in school. I began taking piano lessons when I was four years old.
