I have been teaching for 20 years, with my own business for 10 years. My teaching style is very student centered. This allows me to focus on their unique abilities and interests while building a solid musical foundation. Individualized teaching is my passion. I adapt my teaching style to each students' learning style and then teach them how to express themselves individually through music. I still use traditional methods to build good technique and practice habits, but allow my students to bring their own interests' into our lessons. Read More

In 2009 I started writing songs for Motivational Speakers. The direction of my lyrics went from stories about my life to consciously sending a positive message to my audience. I became involved with a band that played "posi" music and performed many of my songs. I joined the Empower Music Association and participated in their conferences. I simply want my students to come into their first lesson wanting to learn more about their instrument and music. I want them to leave their final lesson feeling the same way, but at a more advanced level than when they first arrived. They don't need to be professional level when they leave, but I want them to feel as though they learned some valuable things as my student and want to either continue learning elsewhere or feel content about what they have learned and are ready to move on to other things. I began teaching professionally in the Bay Area about 30 years ago. I have taught in a variety of settings includings classes, group lessons, in music stores, for school districts, at students' homes and in my own private studio.
