For beginning students, I start out with an Italian art song out of the the 24 Italian art song book. This helps with diction, breath support, and vocal line. Once the student has progressed, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire and let the student choose a couple of songs that he or she would like to sing. For adults, I also start out with an Italian art song, but also find out what the student is interested in and guide my instruction to keep the lessons engaging, encouraging, and fun no matter their ability level. I'm a vibrant instructor and vocalist located in the Greater Jackson, MS area! I've studied vocal performance for approximately eight years, and currently adhere to private lessons. I'm eager to learn and thoroughly enjoy sharing all I've gathered. I'm classically trained and have performed various leading roles from Mozart's Die Fledermaus and Joplin's Ragtime. I am well adept in a wide variety of vocal technique including classical, musical theater, jazz, pop, gospel, soul, and rhythm and blues. Read More

Victor Hugo once said "Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent." The human voice when we sing becomes an instrument of great and even mysterious power. I am most myself when I am singing, and I am passionate about helping others finding their unique, God-given vocal paths into this realm of power and passion. Read More

My favorite part about teaching is discovering how each student learns and using their strengths to enhance their trouble areas. For example, I use a lot of manipulative and physical movement for many visual and kinestetic learners whether its solfege hop scotch, ball bouncing, drawing, etc - students will learn fun and creative ways to learn musical concepts and discover their voice. Developing a whole and healthy voice and musical ability is my ultimate goal for each student and I will make sure to find a path that fits each individual student. Read More
