I have 12 years of experience teaching at all levels. I encourage my students to participate in recitals, competitions, and orchestra auditions to gain performance experience and to help motivate them to practice. I also find that performing can give students a sense of accomplishment and seeing their peers perform can be inspiring. I usually host two recitals yearly.  In 2013 I received my Bachelor's Degree in Instrumental Music and Music Theory from Bluefield College. I own and conduct Ovation Symphony Orchestra. I have played for the Rappahannock Youth Symphony and the Bluefield College Orchestra and in duets and trios with members of the Roanoke Symphony. I live in Virginia and have played for local wineries, art museums, and restaurants; I also play weddings, dinner parties, and private events. I enjoy playing music because music echoes the soul and releases the mind. Born in Washington D.C., I trained on violin in the Arlington area, starting with Suzuki and moving to more traditional classical studies, eventually composing and playing my own compositions starting in my early teens. I attended H.B. Woodlawn Secondary Program where I played in orchestras and numerous string ensembles, including [three?] years with the D.C. Youth Orchestra. I began teaching when I was 3rd grade. My first student was kindergartner who was eager to learn piano but she could not afford to take lessons. She only paid me about 10cents per lesson but I found out teaching was enjoyable and rewarding. My next student was adult. I started having students with all ages.
