I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelors Degree in music with a concentration in viola and education. I start the student first by using The Mastery book by William Dick and Laurie Scott to learn the basic technique of the instrument. As soon as I think the student is ready I start teaching simple songs by rote. My experience as a teacher spans many subjects including not only music but also academics and physical education. I've worked as a gymnastics and motor skills instructor for children aged 3-5. I have been in charge of outreach programs through the Houston Food bank, traveling to various locations in the Houston area to give lessons on nutrition and physical fitness to children of all ages.
