Once my student understands the fundamentals I will begin to introduce scales, etudes, and solo pieces that are appropriate for their level. Every student learns differently and at their own speed, so I make it a priority to adjust my teaching style to fit my students individual needs. As a tactile learner myself, I tend to encourage each student to bring a pencil to their lessons, to mark their music in whatever way helps them, as well as colored pencils to highlight dynamics and articulation. I started teaching privately in 2004, and have been doing so in either my own studio or in the studios of others ever since.. In 2013, I started contracting with the Anaheim City School District to teach string classes in their after-school music program. Since moving to Texas, I have started orchestra programs at two different schools in Dallas county, while continuing to build my own studio.
