Circe D. is an award-winning Venezuelan cellist hailing from El Sistema, Venezuelas acclaimed youth music program. She was a student of magnet school New World School of Arts in Florida, studying under David Cole, as well as a cello performance student at the University of Florida graduating both academic programs with honors. Ms. Circe D. also holds a masters degree in Cello Performance from the University of Florida. Ms. Circe D. has performed as a touring featured cellist with The Nuevo Mundo String Quartet, the World Orchestra String Quartet, and as a soloist with the Symphony Orchestra of Aragua and the Whittier Symphony Orchestra, among others. I have taught quite literally all ages. 5-75. Styles and lesson books used varied depending upon student and school. I usually taught Suzuki for violin, viola and classical guitar (tend to prefer Scott Tennant Pumping Nylon book for classical guitar though). And usually Faber Piano Adventures for young piano students. Eventually going to Clementi Sonatinas and Chopin Preludes. Also Mel Bay Modern Guitar for beginning rock/jazz guitarists. I create my lessons around the goals of each student. I mainly use Suzuki method books, but am willing to work with students if they are already working on one or will assign a different method book for absolute beginners to music. I also incorporate a number of my own scale and etude exercises which are introduced early on, for both children and adults. After, I will introduce the students to scales and arpeggios which will progress from one octave all the way to four octaves. Once students have grasped fundamental violin playing, i will introduce the student to different repertoire based on the students skill set and also desire. For older more advanced students, I will evaluate their current playing level and then teach according to their needs and goals whether it is playing for fun, auditioning for an orchestra, competitions, or etc. Read More
