Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Before moving to Nashville, Tennessee in 2010, I had taught trumpet lessons for 3 years for many different students. What I found during that time is that every child is different, every child has struggles in one area of music or another and that making progress involves practice and enjoying lesson times. I'm a highly passionate music teacher who loves with working with students off all different ages. At 15 years old I had the privilege to study with world class concert pianist the summer of 2016 at an Intensive program. Being mentored by alumni of Juilliard, Oberlin Conservatory, and Curtis Institute, allowed me to really stay focused on my musical studies and inspired me in the best way possible. Joseph enjoys an active career as a performer and educator. He is a member of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra in Jackson, Tennessee, and is principal trumpet of the Psallos Chamber Orchestra. A native of Jackson, Moore completed his undergraduate work at Union University where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree, studying trumpet performance with Tom Grant and Dennis Smith, and music composition with Daniel Musselman. He went on to earn a Master of Music degree in trumpet performance from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he studied with internationally-acclaimed soloist Richard Stoelzel. Read More

My teaching style is dependent on the student. For some assigning certain things to practice and having the student keep track is a good motivator, for others its just asking them to look at the music. Motivations are different for every student and teacher. I've touched on this briefly above, but, my main focus in teaching a student is always to help them find their own musical voice. For beginners this means, not only helping them learn the rudiments and basics of music, but also exposing them to various styles and approaches they may not otherwise encounter. Usually, this will lead a student to a level of inspiration where they see the learning of a musical instrument as a lifetime commitment and a journey that is constantly exciting and demanding.
