Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. For beginning students, I normally start with Essential Elements then move onto Schlossberg and Irons for tone and flexibility; then I start them on the Clarke studies 1st and 2nd studies. I emphasize finger exercises, flexibility, tone, and sight reading. Once the student is advanced enough I start teaching appropriate literature. For adults, I assess their level, and adjust to them, as well as introduce more difficult exercises and literature for them. Read More

My teaching experience sates back to running trumpet sectionals (in Junior High High School) for an All Star Jazz Band in my home town. When I was 16 I started teaching younger trumpet students as well. I descovered early on that I had a passion for directing and teaching. This stayed with me, and I always have incorporated education into my directing and leadership styles as a perormer. As a Musical Director for Royal Caribbean I would regularly have to teach an hour long show to my international band in under an hour and a half.I know that learning an instrument is hard work and that motivation is key to success.
