Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Depending on my analysis of a, diagnostic, first lesson, I would assign a method book that is appropriate to the students needs. I have worked with many different method books, but the Essential Elements books are valuable because of the audio CD that is included with the books. For each lesson, I begin with a 5 to 10 minute warmup before moving on to the student's assigned music. I like to alternate between actual performance/practicing, and teaching concepts including music theory.
