For beginning brass students, I have used Essential Elements 2000, Standard of Excellence, and the Student Instrumental Course. As students become more capable, we move into method books and repertoire written specifically for their instrument. Lessons include a combination of mastering the physical challenges of the instrument and developing musicality. Music to be studied is chosen based on the needs of the student. I graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education, with a focus on Euphonium. I have been playing/singing since 1980. My main instrument is Trombone but I have played Euphonium, Tuba, Trumpet, and Choir. I have been assisting Marching bands with the low brass section for the last 5 years. I have Taught privately for the last 10 years. I have performed in Community bands, orchestras,Jazz bands, Rock bands, Marching bands and Theater bands. I also take part in a holiday group that plays christmas carols for nursing home residents.
