I'm a professional trombonist, composer, and music teacher in Miami, Florida who is dedicated to the study of music. I am a lecturer in the University of Miami's jazz and studio music program, where I have taught music theory, ear-training, and jazz ensembles. I also teach Saturday music theory classes to students ages 7-18 at a local community arts program. I always start with the fundamentals of sound production along with the musical fundamentals such as scales and sight-reading that go along with performance. I am extremely interested in all aspects of the biomechanics of trumpet playing, from breathing to embouchure to tone production to technique. Because of my intensive study of brass pedagogy I am very capable of teaching euphonium/baritone horn, trombone, tuba, and French horn. I received my B.M.E. in Music Education from Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama, where I co-founded Steel Tuba/Euphonium Quartet. I received myM.M. in Euphonium Performance from The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. There I was a member of the award winning Alabama Tuba/Euphonium Ensemble and the Alabama Wind Ensemble.
