My teaching experience began about 12 years ago. As a young college student, I was lucky enough to teach beginner students both privately as well as group lessons. After college, I began working in a music school in Caracas, Venezuela that was part of "El sistema". The love of music is one of the strongest passions in my life. I have been preforming professionally with the U.S. Fleet Marine Corps Music program for almost ten years. Through that program I have been able to perform in sixteen different countries for presidents, vice presidents, kings, queens, and prime ministers. I start all beginning brass players in the Tradition of Excellence method (Kjos Music) as well as individually designed drills and warm-ups. Intermediate students progress to the Rubank Intermediate Method as well as the beginning of the Arbans Method and grade 1 -3 solos. Depending on the individual, advanced students move on to grades 4-6 solos and method books that are specific to their instrument. All students, starting with "advanced beginners" are encouraged to play on studio recitals in a positive, supportive setting. Read More
