I am a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. I am been studying music since the age of five and have had the privilege to travel throughout the country as a professional musician. In 2014, I graduated from Florida Memorial University with a Bachelor of Music Education. Initially I attended Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University "FAMU" for my freshman and sophomore years of college where I became a member of Kappa Kappa Psi and had the privilege to perform with the marching 100. Much of this depends on where the student is in their learning progression--if they are just starting out, then I will focus on the fundamentals of good trombone playing, and work with the basic books like Arban's methods for Trombone. I also have used the Hal Leonard series. But as soon as possible, I will move the student into both listening and playing assignments, starting with artists whose transcriptions are more accessible for both range and technique: Curtis Fuller (including transcriptions I created in college, which are really amazing for students), Hal Leonard's JJ Johnson collection, my own recordings and transcriptions, and Etudes for Jazz from Mike Carubia Jack Gale. I also generally spend the first few lessons trying out different teaching techniques to see which ones will be the most effective for that specific student. I use a combination of aural, visual, kinesthetic and interactive memorization techniques. Read More

Arbans, clark and collin flexebilities are used with my students to a great success. As time has passed my focus has improved and i teach beginners and advanced students how to focus. Weather it is practice or performance focus is an integral part of music and the better you learn to focus the greater levels of achievement are reached and the greater the success becomes. Read More

I taught my first trombone lessons when I was still in high school, and I've always felt a strong connection to teaching (my parents are teachers too). When I was getting my masters, I began teaching beginning brass classes at local elementary schools, and this expanded into several elementary band classes upon graduation. I also maintained a studio of trombone students. I'm currently a lecturer at the University of Miami and teach music theory students ages 7-18 for a community arts program. Read More
