I have been teaching since 2017. I started off with private lessons in St. Augustine, FL, then proceeded to join the Community School of Music at Stetson University as a Student Teacher in 2017. After graduating from Stetson in 2019, I stayed and taught as a Faculty Teacher at the Community School of Music, having more students. During my tenure, I taught students from four to 85 years old. My experience in teaching private lessons goes back to high school when my band director prompted the All-District and All-State band members to give lessons to our sections after school, which allowed me to immediately transition into giving private lessons as a college student. I have given music lessons at Mason's School of Music in Tallahassee, provided lessons as a self-employed contractor, as well as having served as a trumpet /trombone instructor with the Goodwill Band in Tallahassee. With each lesson my goal is to the student learn a scale per lesson and a rudiment per lesson, we will also dig into the different styles and genres surrounding that specific instrument, and encourage the student to try new techniques. I taught my first trombone lessons when I was still in high school, and I've always felt a strong connection to teaching (my parents are teachers too). When I was getting my masters, I began teaching beginning brass classes at local elementary schools, and this expanded into several elementary band classes upon graduation.
