In 2019, I graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX with a Bachelor of Music degree with a double major in Instrumental Music Education and Spanish. With my wind instrument and percussion students, I like to start with a method book. My favorites include Essential Elements and Standard of Excellence. I find that, especially for younger students, this is a great way to introduce beginner theory while learning to apply it to their playing. I spend a great deal of time discussing the importance of breath and practicing breathing gym exercises. My piano method book of choice varies depending on the skill level of the student. Read More

In addition with my education field and experiences, I have also held a volunteer position between two local churches as a singer for the church choir through a Minister of Music program.   I have previously been employed at the John H. Wood Charter District as an Instructor Assistant with a Music Focus in San Antonio, TX at the Anne Frank Inspire Academy. I recently have moved back into the DFW area and currently work with the Creme de la Creme Early Learning Academy as a preschool music teacher. Read More

I've been a trombonist for 33 years. I graduated from Judson High School in Converse, TX in 1991, where I was Band President. We retained 1's in our marching and concert performances, as well as with the Jazz Ensemble. We won First Place in a National Marching and Concert competition in Colorado Springs, CO my senior year, as well as performing half time shows at two state football championship games. I've performed professionally since then, acquired my music degree and have made it all the way to performing with stars for a sold out audience at The Hollywood Bowl. Read More
