I have taught private trombone lessons while I was attending University of North Texas and taught trombone and piano for another private music company. I make sure to keep active on my trombone by playing in as many bands as possible and encourage my students to do the same. I encourage learning about the history and the literature of the instrument as this will help with the performance and interpretation of music. I also encourage the learning of theory, depending on the instrument, it can be very crucial. While this may sound like a lot, I make it so that all of this learning is not overwhelming.
