Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I believe that a strong foundation is essential for steady progress and confident performance. A comprehensive approach is my preference. Therefore, when I teach piano, I prefer Faber and Faber Piano Adventures paired with A Dozen a Day for added technique. Since many students in this school district are in band or orchestra, I usually use Essential Elements for Strings, Brass, and Woodwinds. I spend a reasonable amount of time preparing my students for our recitals and many of them join in the group songs, which have included "What a Wonderful World", "Happy", and currently "The Theme From Midnight Cowboy". Band classes (10), Mariachi (13), Marching and Pep Band (15) were my first performance experiences, not subtle, but we all start somewhere. While in High school, I played in a Drum Bugle Corp., Eb cornet in a college marching and played Lead trumpet in a college Big Band the San Jose Earth Quakes band. In college I decided on a life in music as a studio trumpet artist. I performed as a member of Mariachi, Funk, Soul, RB, Pop, Rock, Recording, Show Bands Theatre Orchestras, and, have been fortunate to play with some of the people whose musical styles I admire and emulate.
