I am a dedicated and loyal educator who loves to teach and motive his students. Music is my love, teaching and educating is my passion. I graduate from Morgan State University with a Bachelors in Music (Trumpet Voice) and Education. I've had the opportunity to study with Wynton Marsalis and Langston Fitzgerald of the Baltimore Symphony. Ever since high school, I have enjoyed teaching other students. In college, I would travel to nearby schools to tutor middle and high school instrumental students. My first job out of college was teaching at a charter school where I saw all the students in the school for 9 week periods. We established an after school band where private lessons were the main form of growth. In my next job, I taught students from beginning, in sixth grade, through their senior year of high school. I taught my first lesson at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and I immediately I was drawn into teaching by the level of enthusiasm, open-mindedness, and desire to improve shown by the student. This student made rapid progress each week, and eventually was offered to go on an international tour with Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp the following year. I continued teaching when I attended the Manhattan School of Music as a graduate student, tutoring undergraduate students there, and once again I was drawn into the rapid progress and enthusiasm of each of the students tutored. I teach all aspects of brass playing: air control, embouchure development, articulation, tone, range, and musical interpretation of all styles.
