I have been playing the piano for twelve years. I graduated from Stetson University in 2019 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and from the University of Texas in El Paso (UTEP) with a Masters of Music in Piano Performance in 2022. I have performed in Italy, Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Texas, on a solo level and collaboration. I want to be encouraging to my students in a way that makes them want to continue music. When students get older they have more opportunities to participate in other activities and it is important to instill that love of music within them. These local children reminded me of myself when I was younger and strived to study music with a financially-difficult background. Helping these kids really was the highlight of my day as I could see how music has helped them grow. I will always feel grateful and excited to give back to my communities through what I do. Jacobs approach of "song and wind" is the basis for my teaching style. It is essential as a brass player to focus on hearing the sound in your mind, training your ear, and allowing your body to produce the result without intervention.  To train students to hear the sound, to learn to play with others, I believe strongly in demonstrating examples on the trombone for the student, playing things back and forth, and sometimes playing together.      Read More
