Director of Music: Bands, Orchestra and Chorus. Davis Public Schools. Choir Director: Folsom Public Schools Columbia University, MA: Music and Music Education. Many years of active performance experience. I teach out of Davis, California,. The most important thing is to develop a love for music and the habit with practice. Guitar students learn how to read, play and understand all guitar styles.  I teach the guitar as a musical instrument, not mechanically, so my students learn, and understand all kinds of music.  I add natural ear training so everyone's ears improve as well as their singing. Bass students start off learning the bass, how to create melodic, funky bass parts.  I teach them to understand what they are doing, improve their ear and sense of rhythm. Piano lessons are modern, positive oriented, pedagogically organized so the students achieve much success and can learn and play many songs.  I have extensive research and knowledge of the Science of Music.

Instructional methods are carefully selected to match the student's learning styles, goals, and levels. Some of the books we use are Berklee College of Music's Modern Method for Keyboard, for Non-Keyboard Majors, Alfred's Methods for Adults, combined with Volume 17, Easy Classics to Moderns. On Guitar we use Bill Levitt's Modern Method for Guitar, Lenny Frank's innovative material, Carcassi Classical Guitar. On Bass, we use Simandle, Carol Kay, and Jaco Pastorius. One of the

Bob is a master teacher with many years of experience. He is deeply invested in every student’s progress. Bob treats each student as an individual and plans his lessons accordingly. He is patient and takes a holistic approach to music instruction. Not content to simply teach an instrument, Bob seeks to develop the complete musician that lies within each student.
