Abraham is a New York State Certified K-12 music teacher with years of private lesson experience. No matter what your goals are, what music you enjoy, or what your current ability may be, Abraham can create a custom lesson plan to open up new doors and avenues. He is dedicated to working with students on a wide variety of goals: Note reading, improvisation, fundamental technique, music theory, repertoire, and more
Abraham has taught over 25 students (and counting) with Musika since 2007. He has taught in classrooms and private lessons with students ranging in age from 4 to 70 years old. He is also an active performer, joining the stage with some of New York's hardest working jazz, pop, and rock bands.
I use games, contemporary and standard song repertoire, and traditional techniques to teach an instrument and my approach to music. As a NY State certified teacher I tend to use progressive music pedagogue, tiered lesson plans, and practical objectives to engage students in challenging and rewarding musical experiences.
Sometimes the best way to learn is to just pick up the guitar and play it. I try to keep this in mind when engaging with a student.
