I played alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, and bass clarinet in Denison's Symphonic Band for 4 years and I played lead tenor in their Jazz Ensemble for 3 years. I also play with the Austin College Wind Symphony, the Greater Texoma Jazz Ensemble, and in the orchestra for musicals with the Sherman Community Players. In 2021, I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with my Bachelor's in Music Education (EC-12). I find the best route with private lessons is start with student see where they are in the process and move forward with a pace that best suited them considering certain factors. Those factors include age, skill level, dexterity, body characteristics, and amount of time already spent with instrument. I like to have student have a lesson notebook and journal so that progress can be tracked more easily.
