Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. I like to demonstrate concepts by modeling so the student knows what they are supposed to sound and look like. I will sometimes play to give an example or send a link to a recording to help the student. I encourage students to go at their own pace. With beginner saxophone, flute and clarinet students, I like to use 'Standard of Excellence' books (and typically 'Faber Piano Adventures' with beginner piano). I find that these books address the fundamentals, that are crucial to learn while young, in a fun way. Specific interests and styles can be explored too, while at the same time getting a well-rounded musical background.
