Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.
lessons are available in the following areas:

I teach the beginning students with Essential Elements 2000: Eb Alto Saxophone, Book 1. It has the fingering charts for the student to use in practice. The playful tunes are good to work in lessons. For medium to advanced level, I will use Selected Duets by H. Voxman, Daily Studies for All Saxophones by Trent Kynaston, Ferling Etudes book, etc. I encourage the student to practice both technique (Scales, thirds, long tone exercise, tonguing) and etudes on daily basis. I love making music and helping students to be confident making music. I know that life can get busy and students won't always be able to practice every day, so I set realistic goals for them and emphasize that even just a little bit of (focused) practice is much better than no practice at all. The most important thing is that students feel like they are making progress and are enjoying the process, rather than checking off a box of drudgery every day just to check it off. Read More

I take a personal approach to the students aspirations. The starting point for all students is, "What music do you enjoy?" This gives me a sense of what they are listening to and maybe even what they would like to sound like. I then sculp a curriculum based on the ability of the student and his/her wants and needs. If I am teaching a beginning woodwind player I focus on embouchure and sound production. Read More

I like to have a balance in my lessons between fun and challenge. I do this by setting realistic goals each week for my students, dependent on their level of perfomance and the pace that they are progressing. Not everyone will progress at the same pace, and I feel that it is more important for a student to master a particular lesson than to move quickly through the lesson book. Read More
