For more advanced students, virtually all material will come from me, with the exception of students who request help with particularly difficult passages in their other repertoire. My teaching experience has been a part of my life for over 12 years starting with my leadership in my high school band specifically with brass instruments. I continued to pursue music education in college where I developed varied techniques and approaches to a variety of instruments through my time spent with some great teachers that identified my challenges and helped me to overcome them. My experience has always been with beginners and earlier musicians, but my tenure in Avery County has given me more experience with intermediate and advanced players that have auditioned and performed in All-District and other Honors Bands throughout North Carolina. I am an experienced musician and have played a number of genres. I also have experience in playing the 4 standard types of saxophone (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone). During my undergrad I held leadership roles in multiple ensembles which required me to train and teach students of various skill levels and ages.
