So far, I have only taught one beginner clarinet player when I was in college. I have taken many courses on teaching and feel confident that I can teach players of any level on clarinet and saxophone. My goal is for students to love the instrument(s) they chose. My teaching experience goes back to when I taught piano lessons in high school. Since then I have continued to teach private lessons throughout college. I now teach music at Kansas City Public Schools. One of the key components to my teaching is helping my students find a way to enjoy making music. I like to provide fun supplemental activities as well as their regular lesson books. The one aspect of teaching I love the most is seeing other students develop a passion for it. Every students learns at their own pace, but this doesn't come without hard work. I encourage my students to work towards something, setting goals and gaining rewards when those goals are met. At the first lesson my students will tell me what they want to do with their music.
