Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. For beginner students who are children, I usually start with Faber Piano Adventures by Hal Leonard, Primer Level (lesson and theory). This will give them a basis of the fundamentals. I might incorporate a few pieces by rote for repertoire to keep their interest! Once they have a good foundation, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire that could be performed at recitals. For beginning students who are children, I usually start with a hodge podge of the Alfred Piano Series and the Suzuki Piano series. I also make sure that they have a holistic music education by including the study of music theory as well. For my adult students, I teach at the pace they are interested in learning using the Adult Alfred Piano series.
