I toured with the Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale for 5+ years, taught multiple music classes with Olivet Boys and Girls Club and the Reading, PA music foundation. For beginning students, I start with Randal and Nancy Faber's Piano Adventure books, which includes lesson books, performance books, and theory books as well. Once the students have a grasp on the fundamentals, they will then move on to solo repertoire for their first recital performance. For adolescents to young adults, based on how they are learning with their piano teacher, I can help with the student decide what repertoire they should learn for Student Day, the National Guild of Piano Teachers, etc. Read More

I started teaching 9 years ago. I really enjoy, and love seeing the progress with my students. Having fun is key. Learning to play an instrument or singing tends to quickly evolve as the students catches interest. Approaching the lessons from a natural and easy to understand method results into a second nature and a more excelling learning approach. Being able to learn a specific or different genres of music from Classical, Pop, R&B, Jazz, Contemporary Christian, Reggae, Latin etc is also a way to develop the student interest. Read More

For piano I prefer Faber Piano Adventures and have different books I would recommend starting with depending on the students age and experience. For guitar and ukulele I prefer using the Hal Leonard method books. I often supplement these method books with outside sources and pieces as is appropriate for the student. For singing students, I have a wide variety of books and resources depending on the musical style. I come from a classical voice background, so when students are middle school age and older (sometimes earlier) we begin learning Italian Art songs in addition to musical theater pieces and English folk songs.
