I enjoyed growing up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and had the privilege of starting piano lessons when I was seven years old and violin lessons when I was nine. I continued my study of both instruments through high school and into college where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Pedagogy. I completed a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance, May 2017; and, am currently pursuing a second Masters degree in Accompanying at Florida State University where I am an opera accompanist. For beginner students of violin I always start with the suzuki method and alternate it with the "The new directions" method, while after 3 or 4 weeks I start with some repertoire according to how the student evolves. In the case of piano I start with John Thompson's methodology "Teaching little fingers to play", alternated with exercises of the book Junior Hanon for piano, I try to evaluate the student qualitatively before quantitatively at least once a month. I use the Suzuki method for strings. I was classically trained in this method. I find that this method is an excellent way for beginners to gain basic technique and learn at their own pace.
