Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, when I was offered a teaching position as a piano instructor in an academy of music. I have consistently taught the piano for 15 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points which help students -especially younger ones- to progress and develop a passion for the piano. Concept teaching is the most effective for advancing the musicians development. Teaching specific details and then showing how they can be moved and manipulated for a greater concept theme will give the students confidence that they actually understand what is happening musically from plenty angles and the ability to maneuver through the music and instrument as seamless as possible. But in conjunction with the books, I want to give the student opportunities to play what they want. I have a music notation software, which i've used to create simple arrangements of pop songs from artists such as Taylor Swift or Bruno Mars, or anything else I or the student think would be fun to play. For me, it's about building or finding moments. Finding out what is going to motivate you to learn that song, practice that chord, and try to instill the desire to show it off for next time. Once I find out where the student is at, wether they are learning their first chords or songs, or they have been trying for a while or just getting back to their old habit of picking up the instrument, the goal is to set the mark where one will wait eagerly for the next lesson, to show off their new found skill.
