If the student was that serious, I can relate to that on a certain level. I've had to teach four to six instrument parts to the band mates for a single song. Stopping a jam to nail down a part can be frustrating and slow the momentum of a jam session, but I've always felt it is imperative to keep everyone knowledgeable and in pocket. So in my music teaching experience, I've learned to keep a positive and patient vibe.
