It is important that younger students have fun, and are encouraged to continue learning this art form. For adult students, I focus on repertoire and material that they want to focus on learning in their own style. I emphasize breath support, body alignment, connectivity, and remaining comfortable. I frequently compliment the student's effort and work, as I understand the struggles that they are having, and it is important to recognize their strengths and help them overcome their weaknesses in order to succeed. We'll usually start with the First Book of [Voice Part]'s Solos and mix in one or two musical theater pieces.
