I am a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer, and improviser who is equally passionate about teaching music as I am about playing it. I graduated with a Bachelors of Music degree in Music Composition and Music Technology from the Conservatory of Music at Brooklyn College.I perform often as both a solo vocalist and technologist and with my experimental RnB group The Pluto Moons. As a soloist, my performances and recordings of my own compositions have been featured at a variety of festivals throughout the world, including the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival, the PNEM Festival in Uden Netherlands, and the Hrlursfestival in Solleftea, Sweden. My teaching experience goes back to my college days when I was teaching guitar at a local guitar store in Philadelphia. I have since taught several years in students homes. I like teaching students of all skill levels from very beginners to advanced level guitarists. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! My students are encouraged to enter festivals, camps and performing events as well as work on their own composing, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. These were wonderful opportunities to teach peers and those who have been in the music education field much longer than the four of us. Although teaching large groups is exciting, nothing beats one-on-one lessons with a student. I have had and taught plenty of these lessons for several instruments including flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, french horn, euphonium, tuba, percussion, piano, guitar, and bass guitar.
