For 23 years, I have taught instrumental music in the public schools in New York State, as well as private lessons. Although I teach all styles of music, at lessons, I focus on music of students choice. I have coached numerous rock bands at the local youth center. For beginners, I generally start with exercises I have composed myself. Every student learns at their own pace, which is why I write each lesson specifically for that individual. Once the student has gotten a grasp on fundamentals, I will introduce Mel Bay, Berklee Press, and Hal Leonard style solo repertoire, chord progression and melody exercises, and music theory.
