For beginning students I will start with fundamentals, music theory and basic music reading lessons. For more advanced students I teach those same methods but will also apply improvisation and song writing to the lessons with my own “4 Steps to Song Writing” method. I graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a B.A. and Psychology and went in to the education field 7 years ago. I studied Jazz Ensemble with one of the top jazz musicians in Houston and have been playing guitar since I was 11. I began teaching when I was 17 after I made friends who were younger through the mariachi summer camp. I taught music theory and the overall style of how to learn and build chords based on key signatures. Being able to show these kids so much about their instrument made me want to some day become a good tutor for someone else in need of lessons that are straight forward and to the point without having to worry about a tutor that's hard to work with.
