Every student has different interests and a different learning style. I customize every lesson and lesson plan to meet the needs of my students. The first lesson is focused on my assessment of a students skills, interests, and learning styles. From there I will determine the most useful resources for each student. I then moved on to teach six years at public high schools in Texas, and then I moved on to teaching at the University level. Throughout that time I have always had a private studio as well. I use the same material and books that have helped me improve as well as customizable methods for each student. I firmly believe in an individual approach to each student, highlighting that student's strengths while encouraging improvement. If a student struggles with a particular aspect of playing, I will select the techniques that will hone his or her abilities best and produce a desired outcome.
