For beginning students, we will spend a good amount of the first few lessons in developing core fundamentals. Once we have a solid foundation, I will start to add in some exercises. I work out of many books to expose my students to different methods of playing. For more advanced students, I will work with them on developing more characteristic sounds. My method are getting with the student for a first lesson to see what they have done and what they are able to do. Then get them to play for me whatever they wish to play for me at the moment and then we will go from there. Depending on what they are able to do then I will decided what kind of warm-up to d with them. Like for myself I do 15 minutes of long-tones on oboe and then 10-15 minutes on English horn. Read More

I'm a very passionate musician who loves guiding and instructing students to further their own interests in music. I have had a variety of performance opportunities throughout my time at Western Carolina University from which I graduated in 2012. I have had the opportunity to play in a variety of venues from Hawaii for the Pearl Harbor anniversary as well as in the the Rose Bowl Parade.
