I take all of my students through the leveled piano curriculum, whether it would be Faber and Faber Piano Adventures or Alfred Piano. My adult students I take through the adult method books. A lot of my adult students want to learn gospel piano and so we learn some of the easy hymns out of the hymn book. I start teaching right at the very beginning how to write music. Read More

I have over twenty years of private lesson experience. I began teaching private lessons to flute students in Ponca City High School while I was a student at Oklahoma State University. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years. For beginning students whose primary goal is membership in a school performance ensemble, I will usually choose a beginning band method that give them a good foundation in fundamental playing techniques. For older and adult beginningstudents, I usually use instrumental methods more suited for older learners. In addition, I incorporate easy solo literature for public performance. Read More

I find great satisfaction and enjoyment working with music students of all ages and ability levels. The reward comes from seeing the development of a student to the point where they are accomplishing wonderful things with their musical ability. I graduated from BYU in 1989, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education. I have been fortunate to perform with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Minnesota Mormon Chorale. I continue to play as often as possible, keeping my skills sharp and maintaining my passion for the music environment. Read More
