My teaching experience started 5 years ago. I was a senior in high school and was teaching a beginning student the trombone. Throughout the past 5 years I have continued to teach students when I was able to. I encourage regular practice and maintaining a consistent schedule. I always say 10 minutes a day is better then 30 minutes every 3 days. I taught band in New York, specializing in woodwinds and began teaching private lessons during the summer breaks. I also was an adjudicator in New York state for the Solo and Ensemble contests held throughout the state. I have taught ages 4 through adults and have a great deal of experience teaching special needs students both in the classroom and in private lessons. Having recently moved to the Tulsa area, I am trying to build up my private students because I love teaching them, getting to know the students, sharing my love and knowledge of music, and watching them grow in their skills and love of music. The reward comes from seeing the development of a student to the point where they are accomplishing wonderful things with their musical ability. I graduated from BYU in 1989, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education. I have been fortunate to perform with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and the Minnesota Mormon Chorale.
