I love teaching music and am very excited to have the chance to teach new students in the Tulsa area. I grew up in Broken Arrow where I was a member of the Pride playing flute and piccolo. I also was in the Tulsa Youth Symphony and All State Orchestra. I am very happy to be back in the Tulsa area. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. My name is Debra and I am 52 years old. I have spent most of my life in music. I learned piano at a music school here in Tulsa starting at the age of 4 years old until graduating from high school. I went into teaching music at an early learning school which I thoroughly enjoyed and probably inspired me to be the teacher I am today.
